Short convention report: What Dominic Keating would prefer to collect, how he and Connor Trinneer became so good friends and more...

The FedCon 25 with our beloved Dominic Keating has ended yesterday with a fantastic closing ceremony.

I've got so much information - perhaps I can write some of them down for you in this little report.

How Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer became so great friends - or: all about "Star Trek: Enterprise", episode: "Shuttlepod 1"

It was Connor Trinneer who told this interesting story at his panel on Monday. The episode "Shuttlepod 1" was meant to be shot to save money. Almost the whole episode is performed by only two actors and in one small room: the Shuttlepod 1. It was indeed a small room they played in because the director wanted to have an authentic athmosphere. So to say: he intended that the breath of Trip and Malcolm can be seen in a cold athmosphere. So they put frozen ice under the room of the shuttle so that the floor made of metal became very cold. In addition, they used several cooling units (as in cool storage rooms) to keep the Shuttlepod-shooting-room as cold as possible. But - unfortunately it did not work - no warm breath can be seen in the movie.

But Connor and Dominic rehearsed the scenes about one week before they started to shoot and in this time both great actors noticed that their chemistry fits very, very well. Although their characters and their way of life are very different, they became and are still very close friends - as we all know.

Dominic Keating heated up the vibe of the visitors for FedCon 25

On Friday, this famous conventions started and the FedCon team chose our Dominic to start the first panel this year. It was a wise decision because his humorous, vivid and professional way to talk about how he got his role in "Star Trek: Enterprise" and much more heated up all the visitors for the coming days at the FedCon.
Until now I've heard and watched Connor and Dominic together in panels - they are absolutely a dream team, but when everyone is alone at the panel it's brilliant too!

What Connor Trinneer collects and what Dominic Keating would prefer to collect ;-)

Dominic Keating knows exactly what we (fans and friends of him) want him to do. O:-) It was the second hot day in Germany and in the conference room it was very warm too because the air conditioner had just started to work for this first panel in the morning. Dominic picked up this warm temperature in the room and started to talk about removing his shirt. The positive reaction of the audience led him to raise his shirt so that everybody could see and admire his hard-bodied body. It was so surprising - so no photo was shot in these seconds.

Some minutes later, Dominic talked about his friend Connor Trinneer who collects coins, starting to tell a funny story about it. And Dominic noted that he would not like to collect coins - he would prefer to collect panties. Here he is - our humorous Dominic!

Attractive Dominic Keating with glasses!

I - and a lot of other convention guests - saw Dominic Keating on Friday morning with glasses - modern, white glasses interpersed with black stripes. He looked so well with these glasses. Dominic sat on a table where you could put the empty bottles and cups on. My daughter saw him, greeted him and then she told me that Dominic was there. Suddenly, he was so real for me: sitting there, friendly smiling and greeting all people who looked at him and doing a small smalltalk with them. And I - stand there 1.5 meters away and was not able to go to him and say "Hello". Luckiliy, a lady from the FedCon team came and they went together in the breakfast room. I behaved very cowardly - but later I talked to him... ;-)

I hope I have understood correctly what Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer told the last four days and perhaps I'll add some information when they'll come to my mind again.

But everyone who wants to add something or write a short / long report too - please do not hesitate to send it to me. I will be very thankful (and I'm sure Dominic too) to publish it here on Dominic Keating's official fan blog too!

Have a fantastic new May-week!
Yours Gabi
